George was a druggist in New Boston, Illinois where he located in 1865.
He was a veteran of the Civil War serving thirteen months in the
"Mosquito fleet" on the Cumberland River. He served as chairman of the
Mercer County Republican Conventions several times and for four years,
was supervisor from New Boston township. Fraternally, he is a Master
