Daniel Whitford Howard was born in Sherburne, Chenango county, N.Y., August 29, 1808, married June 16, 1831, Caroline Whitely; moved in 1838 or '39 to Wayne, Erie county, Pa.; in Wayne he held the office of constable ten years, and was justice of the peace five years; in 1861 removed to Beaver Dam; Erie county, Pa., where he was proprietor of a grocery store till his death, January 30, 1882. He became a member of the M. E. Church in 1867
