Children were of first marriage of James Whipple raised by Lena and James. They loved Lena and thought of her as their mother. I have several letters in my possession that attest to that.

Obituary: Whipple Rites Held Sunday P.M. Funeral services in memory of Lena Whipple, R D 3, Corry, were conducted from the Glenn Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at two o’clock with interment following in the Evergreen cemetery. Rev. Harold Lyman of the E. U. B. Church officiated. The deceased, a former Union City resident, passed away Friday, October 14 at the Piper Convalescent Home, and is survived by one step-daughter, Miss Florence Whipple of Milford, OH.
