Golden Wedding Anniversary: Mr. and Mrs. Earl Chapin To Celebrate 50th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Earl Chapin of 15 North Street, Union City, PA will be observing their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Monday May 25, 1891. Mrs. Chapin is the former Louise Gorandt. The couple was united in marriage n the United Brethren Church manse at Mayville, NY by the late Rev. Willis Chase, who was a former pastor of the United Brethren Church of Union City and a close friend of the family. The couple has one daughter, Mrs. William (Martha) Carter of Union City, Pa. Mr. Chapin attended Edinboro State Teachers College at Edinboro, PA, graduated from Erie Business College at Erie, PA and was employed in the accounting department of the Corry Jamestown Corp of Corry, PA. at the time of his retirement in 1971. Mr. and Mrs. Chapin faithfully attend the Faith Evangelical Church of Corry, PA at the present time. They plan to quietly celebrate the happy occasion with their family. Cards from their relatives and family will be welcome. |

Obituary
Earl Brown Chapin, 85, of 15 North Street, Union City died Thursday, Sept.
26 1991 at Union City Memorial Hospital. He was born in Union Twp.
on Feb. 9, 1906, son of the late Samuel Ray and Dolly Brown Chapin. Raised
on the family farm, Mr. Chapin spent most of his life in the Union City
area. He attended the Erie Business College and Edinboro College. He held
numerous jobs, including six years in the purchasing department of Aero
Supply Co and 14 years with Corry Jamestown as an accounts payable
auditor. he retired in 1971. He was active in church work, first
with the Union Amity Church, the with the United Brethren Church of Union
City and most recently as a member of the Faith Evangelical Church of
Corry. He enjoyed gardening, home and yard work, and traveled the
continental U.S. extensively with his family. He was preceded in
death by a daughter, Mrs. Martha Elaine Carter, in 1985 and four sisters,
Viva Waive Barton, Wilma Lucile Chapin, Velma Louise Chapin, and Ethelyn
Charlotte Chapin. Survivors include his wife, Louise Calista Gorndt
Chapin whom he married on May 25, 1931, a brother Rulaf Chapin of Union
City, and a grandson. Friends may call at Glenn Funeral Home, 62 S.
Main Street Union City, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The
funeral service will be held there Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. J. Lynn
Ciriglaino of Faith Evangelical Church will officiate. Burial will
be at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Evangelical Church 13444 West Washington St. |
