A. C. Breault Is Wounded In North Africa Paratrooper Wounded in Action But Further Information Is Lacking in Advices to Parents From War Dept. Pvt. A. C. Breault, formerly of Corry, was wounded in action in the North African theater of operations, according to word reaching his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Breault, 1051 East Twenty-fourth street, Erie. The Breault family formerly resided in Corry, moving to Erie a year ago. Parents of the paratrooper were informed by the War Department that their son was wounded in action during the North African campaign. The nature and extent of his wounds were not disclosed in the information from the War Department. Breault entered the Army on May 12, 1942 and was advanced to the rank of corporal, but he surrendered the rank to enter the paratroops. Pvt. Alfred C. Breault, the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Breault, 358 W. 29th St., holder of the Purple Heart, after many months of service in Italy with the 180th Military Police Co., writes his parents that he will be soon en route to the Pacific for combat with the Japs. The Erie man entered the army on May 12, 1942, with the rank of technician fifth grade. He gave up his rank to join the paratroopers, and after training at Ft. Benning, Ga., went overseas on May 12, 1943. He was wounded in the Sicilian invasion on July 16, 1943 and hospitalized until Nov. 1, 1943 after which he joined his unit in North Africa, later moving into Italy. | ||
