Obituary:
Funeral services for Blair W. Roberts, retired developer and contractor and former Harvard professor, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Harry and Bryant Chapel in the Oaks. Officiating will be Harold M. Robinson, pastor of Dilworth Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Roberts died Saturday in a local hospital. He was 83. A Moundsville, W. Va., native, Mr. Roberts received his Ph. D. from Boston University. He taught Greek and Latin at Harvard University before serving as a chaplain in World War I. He moved to Charlotte in 1919 and entered the real estate and contracting business, retiring in 1955. Mr. Roberts was a member of the Goodfellows Club and the Mecklenburg Wildlife Club. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James Lawrence of Charlotte and Mrs. Bonar Griffiths of San Mateo, Calif.; a son, Dr. B. W. Roberts, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and a sister, Mrs. Iva Richmond of
Wichita, Kans.
