Obituary:
Mr. Emory Mickle died at his home in Rockdale township on January 27, 1917 of a complication of an illness of about two months. He was born in Cattaraugus county, NY July 8, 1836 being therefore 80 yrs 5 mo and 19 days old. When a small child he removed with his parents to Rockdale township. On January 2, 1856 he was united in marriage to Miss Adelia Wheeler and they have lived for a period of 61 years in this locality. He is survived by his aged wife, three brothers, Zack Mickle of Garland, Milo Mickle of Little Cooley, Miles Mickle of Rockdale, and one sister Mrs. Debby Glover, also of Rockdale. Mr. Mickle for many years was a member of the church at Brown Hill and was a sincere Christian. He was a kind and loving husband an honest and industrious citizen. So after a long and useful life he has gone to be with Him who doeth all things well. The deepest sorrow is felt for his aged wife whose devotion and tender care was shown in every possible way to him whom she loved and whose companionship was so dear to her. Funeral services in his memory were held from the U. B. Church at Brown Hill on Monday, January 29, 1917 at 1o'clock conducted by Rev. Cobb of Cambridge Springs. Interment in the Millers Station Cemetery. The floral offerings were beautiful, the mute eloquence of love and sorrow.
