| The Percivals of
Cape Cod" (1938) by Benton P. Crocker shows that John 2 and Mary
3 (Bourne) Percival had a daughter Patience 3 Percival. The
Barnstable Co. Probate Records include the will of John Percival of
Sandwich, dated 18 August 1737 in which he gives $5. to his
"daughter Patience Nye" and $50 to his "unmarried daughter Sarah
Percival." Therefore, the daughter Patience had married a Nye before
the date of the will, and Sarah was still unmarried. The Barnstable
VR show the intention of marriage 24 February 1732/3 of "Nathan Nye,
tertius" of Sandwich to "Patience Passavil" (Mayf. Desc. 34:18), and
Nathan Nye married 22 September 1733 "Patience Passavil," - the
ceremony performed in Barnstable by the Rev. Jonathan Russell (ibid.
34:20). This Patience Percival was baptized in the Sandwich Church,
with two younger and two older siblings 13 May 1716. The younger
sister, Sarah Percival was there baptized 21 July 1717; and it was
she who married 26 July 1739 Reuben Jones (Barnstable VR - Mayf.
