Obituary: Edwards, Ralph C. b. Sept. 11, 1907 Town of Ellicott. d. Mar. 11, 1991 Kinzua Valley Facility. Age 83. s/o Bonnie & Bessie (Blackmer) Edwards. w/ Dorothy Adams. PJ: 3/13/1991: Ralph C. Edwards of Kinzua Valley Health Care Facility, formerly of Charlotte Villa and Frewsburg Nursing home, died Monday, March 11, 1991 at the Kinzua Valley Facility at the age of 83. He was born Sept. 11, 1907 in the Town of Ellicott, a son of Bonnie and Bessie Blackmer Edwards. He was a Chautauqua County resident until volunteering for the service during World war II. Mr. Edwards was a chief motor machinists mate in the Navy, serving aboard the U. S. S. Ancom in the Mediterranean and European Theaters from 1942-1945. He was employed as a mechanic and welder at the Jacksonville Shipyard in Florida until his retirement in 1973. He is survived by three sisters, Doris Barnhart of St. Louis, Mo., Lucille Quinlisk of Brooksville, Fla., and Lela Faulkner of Sinclairville; three brothers, Barney Edwards of Jamestown, and Bennie and Neil Edwards both of Brooksville, Fla. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Burton, Mark, George and Lawrence Edwards. Burial will be in Red Bird Cemetery. |
