Obituary: Mrs. Mason Taylor
Jane S. Curtis was born in Almira, N.Y. June 17th, 1828. In 1843 she removed with her parents to Ogle county, Illinois, and in 1845 she was married at Payne's Point Illinois, to Mason Taylor. The family made their home in that place for forty years, when they removed to Dayton, Columbia county, Washington. After twenty-four years of residence there, they went to Puget Sound, where Mr. Taylor died August 3, 1909 at the age of 86 years. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor having been married sixty-four years at the time of his death. Mrs. Taylor came with her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Taylor, to this valley four years ago. She had enjoyed excellent health for one of her years until two months ago, since which time she has been more or less a sufferer. She departed this life on March 30, 1914 at the age of 86. Mrs. Taylor was loved and respected by all who knew her, and always ready to help others in every way possible. She leaves to mourn her, three children, Wm. M. Taylor, of Peshastin, and N.G. Taylor ad Mrs. C. I. Range of Seattle, Wash., and their families consisting of 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Rev. Mr. Davis conducted the funeral services at her home, at Wm. Taylor's residence, near Peshastin, burial was at Peshastin cemetery April 1, 1914.
