Obituary: Edson C. Chapin, 70, of 78 Elm, Union City, died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Erie. He was born in Union City, Oct 13, 1909 the son of the late Guy and Mabel Flaugh Chapin. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Eureka Lodge No. 366 F&AM, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Erie, the Zem Zem Temple, the John Krol Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Lebaron Post of the American Legion. He attend the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Cox Chapin; three daughters, Mrs. Nelson (Nancy) Pattison and Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Seath, both of Union City, and Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Foster of Cleveland, Ohio; two sons, Wayne Kerr of Mobile, Ala., and Wellington Kerr of Watertown, Wis., 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Meredith) Steinhoff of Cambridge Springs; a brother, Lawrence Chapin of Edinboro, and a sister in law, Mrs. Sue Chapin of Akron, Ohio. Friends may call at the Glenn Funeral Home in Union City Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend services there Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roy Shoaf officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Military services will be held there Tuesday at 8 p.m. |
