Obit: District Pioneer Called By Death
Herman D. Barton, a native of New York and for the past 60 years a
resident of this district, died yesterday at age 84 years, 1 month and 2
days. Mr. Barton is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J.C. Rice, Mrs. Joe
Gruwell of Coalinga and Mrs. Blanche Broderick. The deceased served a term
as supervisor and was one of the best known men in the county. The funeral
will be held from the Rice a member, chapel Saturday afternoon at 2
o'clock and interment will be in Hanford cemetery. The burial services
will be under the auspices of Hanford Lodge, No. 279, F and A. M. of which
he was a member.

Funeral of Herman D. Barton Held
The funeral of the late Herman D. Barton, who died Thursday was held
yesterday afternoon from the Rice chapel, the services commencing at 2
o'clock. Dr. C. E. Ensign conducted the services at the chapel and hymns
were sung by A. J. Young and J. P. Bowden, accompanied by G. T. Reihard.
The pall bearers were: Thomas Dillon, S.V. Hawley, R. ------- , L. C.
Dunham, Francis Cunningham and R. R. Butler. The interment was in
Hanford cemetery and burial services wre under the auspices of Hanford
Lodge 279. F. and A. M.
