Obituary:  John E. Wilkins died at the home of his son Clifton C. Wilkins in Crawford County, Tuesday July 28, 1936. Services in his memory were held Thursday afternoon at two o’clock from the late home, conducted by rev. E. L. Elbel, of Slippery Rock, Pa., his former pastor who spoke of the Christian faith of the deceased which had never wavered during his long illness. Interment was made in Townline cemetery with his four sons, Homer, Clifton, Kenneth and Donald acting as pall bearers. He was born October 18, 1860, to Charles and Percy Chapin Wilkins in the same community where he spent the greater part of his life. He attended school at Edinboro Normal and since a young man has been an active member of the Wilkins M. E. Church.  On September 24, 1884, he was united in marriage to Corena Kelly, of Cambridge Springs who preceded him in death September 14, 1933. Eight children were born to this union, seven of whom survive, the four above mentioned sons and three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Henry, Mrs. Edith King and Mrs. Helen Hamilton all of Union City. Several grand children and one sister, Mrs. L. Walter Mason, of Pittsburgh, Pa., also survives to mourn his loss.
