The Alumni Record of the University of Illinois, 1906 (page 288)
indicates the following: Ernest attended Decatur High School and
Illinois State Normal where he was class President. He was also
President of the Math Club; a member of the Illini advisory board;
Treasurer of Y.M.C.A.; track manager and secretary of Athletic Board
of Control. He received a Batchelor of Science degree and a Masters
degree. He was an instructor in mathematics at University Academy
during 1902-1905; an instructor in math at the University of
Illinois.
He also taught in the Decatur Public Schools from 1895-1897. Ernest
