Obituary:
John W. Chapin passed away at his home at Lyona, Wednesday afternoon
after a brief illness. He was born April 24, 1845 in Bloomfield
Township, the son of John and Permelia (Holmes) Chapin. He served during
the Civil War, in Company A., 16 Regiment, Pennsylvania Calvary. On July
5, 1866 he married Miss Rhoda Wilkins. She died in 1916. He is survived
by a daughter, Mrs. Frank Warner, Lyona; a son Jay S. Chapin, Jamestown,
N.Y., five grandchildren, and one sister Mrs. Annis A. Range, Union
City, Pa. Funeral services will be held from the home at one o'clock,
Friday afternoon. Interment in Evergreen cemetery, Union City, Pa.
