Obituary: Mrs. Sarah B. Chapin Passed Away At Home of Daughter Tuesday
Afternoon At 5:30 O'Clock Mrs. Sarah B. Chapin, whose critical illness has
been mentioned in this paper, passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs.
James Whipple one mile south of Union City, on Tuesday afternoon at 5:30
o'clock surrounded by her six children and other relatives, who did all in
their power with the aid of skilled physicians, to restore to health this
excellent woman. Had Mrs. Chapin lived until January she would have been
78 years of age and is survived by six children as follows: Rev. George
Chapin of Pleasantville; Ray Chapin of Union Township; Guy Chapin, of
Rockdale township; Mrs. Mary Sill, of Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Minnie
Wilkins, of this city and Mrs. Lena Whipple, all of whom have the sympathy
of all in their bereavement. The funeral services will be held on Friday
at 11 o'clock a.m. at the Free Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. A.
G. Crill, and the interment will be in Evergreen cemetery. |
