Obituary: Death of Mr. J. B. Range
The death of Mr. J. B. Range, which occurred at Lincolnville last Tuesday. removed one of the oldest and most highly honored citizens of that section, and general regret is expressed on all sides. He had been ill for a long time, but bore up under his suffering remarkably for a man of his years. During his illness everything possible was done to relieve and make him comfortable, but the disease could not be stayed and finally the end came. Mr. Range served his country well during the Civil War. He was a member of the Grand Army and also a member of the Lincolnville lodge of Odd Fellows. He had strong convictions of right and wrong and always had the courage of his convictions, an admirable characteristic for any man. He leaves to mourn his death one son, Mr. R. W. Range of Seattle; three brothers, Hon. J. W. Range of Seattle, Wash. who happened to be here on a visit to his old home; George and Lytle Range of Dayton, Wash; and four sisters, Mrs. T. O. Persons and Mrs. Sarah Chapin of Union City, Mrs. Pearl Bradbury of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Mrs. G. A. Kelly, of Walla Walla, Wash. Funeral services were held from his late home last Thursday afternoon, Rev. Nichols, of Youngsville, officiating and his remains were laid to rest in Chapinville Cemetery.
