Susan was said to have married a man named Edwards who was a soldier in NY. She was living in a log cabin in the wilderness, a friendly Indian came one day and told her that some other Indians were coming to kill the family. He led the way and she walked twelve miles to the fort with her partially blind son hanging
on to a white cloth tied to her coat.
